My Experience at The Network

Friday, March 28th, 2014

networkprogramme1

Today I want to speak to you about The Network, a talent scheme that I managed to get a place on last summer. It was a fantastic experience and something I really encourage you to look into if you’re someone who wants a career in the media industry, especially in TV.

I met some amazing people and I don’t mean just the guest speakers who took the time to come and chat with us, but the other delegates who were on the scheme were all great.

Find out more in the video below and see some photos from my experience there last summer. For a in-depth look at what I got up to, you can read this blog post here.

Good luck if you apply! Unfortunately I can’t guarantee you’ll meet Vince Gilligan.

Fall Out Boy @ Metro Radio Arena

Friday, March 21st, 2014

I’ve waited 8 years to see Fall Out Boy and tonight I finally got to see them at the Metro Radio Arena. They were amazing and I’d love to see them live again in the future.

I’ve just landed in Exeter where I will be working at the UCAS event tomorrow and Thursday (alongside another student ambassador) and thought I’d share with you the great view I had from my window seat on the plane!

Filming in the Lake District

Wednesday, March 12th, 2014

I’m going to do a full video and a post on our dissertation and filming when we wrap (which should be later this month – how exciting) but until then I wanted to share with you a few photos of one of our amazing locations. We’re filming beside a lake (one of many in the lake district) and in fact, some of our shots for a particular scene are going to be filmed on the lake, in rowing boats!

I’m really looking forward to getting our film into the edit room and seeing what it looks like all finished!

OOTD: Casual Smock Dress

Wednesday, March 5th, 2014

This post is a little different to my usual ones. Today I’m going to talk about fashion (well, in a sense) and my typical attire for this OOTD (Outfit Of The Day) post, complete with a little video too!

At Sunderland University, I see lots of students experimenting with different trends and styles and with there being such an international feel and students from all over the world, it’s really interesting to see what people wear.  Now, I’m gonna put my hands up and admit, I’m not a style icon by any means, if anything I wear something I like and something that I feel comfortable in.

From time to time I put up outfit posts on my blog, Hello Freckles, and ideally I want to get into the habit of doing more frequent posts like that. I enjoy talking about clothes, looking at clothes and buying clothes (as much as my bank balance may not).

This is a pretty typical outfit I would wear during the week for uni lectures and at the weekend to see friends. I’m rarely without my leather jacket as it’s the perfect thing to throw on to toughen up a smock dress and make things casual, while keeping me warm.

Watch my OOTD video below to see where items are from. I hope you like it!
