Goodbye from Natasha <3

Thursday, September 18th, 2014

This year has gone by soo fast. I would like to give a MASSIVE Thank You to the Lives online team and my colleagues who’ve worked so hard together and all of YOU readers out there who have been following me throughout this year! As you know, I have grown so much from being a student undergoing stress with studies, coping with events from clubs & societies, hanging in there with homesickness and all to establishing my work life now as a pre-registration pharmacist. This year is yet another amazing year, one I’ll never ever forget.. I’ve put together a short clip summarising the year being part of the Lives Online team- I’m sad to say but Goodbye everyone, I’m privileged that I am able to share my life with yous  & once again, thank you for all of your comments & likes!

With LOTs of Love,

Man U vs Sunderland

Thursday, September 11th, 2014

Once again, I would like to thank University of Sunderland for giving out FREE tickets to students for so many football matches at Stadium of Light, Sunderland. This would be my seventh live football match at Sunderland and it is still very exciting to be part of the audience cheering and supporting the Sunderland team. I have captured a short video for you to see how close I was to the field and how amazing the atmosphere was like. Enjoy! xx

My Pre-Reg Experience So Far…

Thursday, September 11th, 2014

Hey everyone,

Since I’ve started working as a pre-reg pharmacist, I’ve barely had time to sit down and take a breather. After a long day (9 to 7pm) at work, I would come home and make some simple dinner, put my feet up to rest for a bit and head to bed straight. Sometimes I get really physically and mentally drained at the end of the day. However as the days go by, after meeting and serving my patients over the counter, I feel that I have made an impact in their lives. They are happy to see me and of course when they start knowing your name, you’ll know that you’ve nailed the patient rapport. 🙂 With a blink of an eye, one month has passed by and I cannot believe I’ve been working for more than a month already.

The pre-reg assessments are due soon and I will have to start writing up my reports so that my tutor can go through them one by one and report back to GPhC that I am on track with my training. On top of that, I will also have to start studying up for the pre-reg exam which is held next June- There are loads to cover and I technically have to swallow the whole BNF (British National Formulary), digest and remember contents of it which sounds kinda scary but at the same time interesting because by the end of the day, I would know 90% of the drugs out there in the UK. But the learning process does not stop there, we are always updated with new drugs and development that everyday is like a learning process. This is what makes the life of pharmacists exciting, we are ever-learning. To all pre-regs out there, I know some of you may have different experiences working in different sectors, different treatments & tasks to do whilst training, make full use of this year as time will just go by real fast. Work as if there is no pharmacist around, and that YOU are the pharmacist. It helps you think what to do and how you can face dilemmas and how to act  or react to in difficult situations.  🙂

Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka!

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2014

Hari Merdeka (Independence Day) commemorates the independence of the Federation of Malaya from British colonial rule in 1957. It is celebrated on August 31 each year. So Happy Merdeka to all my fellow Malaysians out there, no matter where we are, what we do, let us continue to grow in unity and love together as a country.

Birthday Trip to Ireland

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2014

Hey lovelies!

Last Monday were my boyfriend and my birthdays..! We managed to take some leaves off from work to celebrate by going on a sweet and short trip to Ireland. We went on for several tours to Republic of Ireland and all the way up to Northern Ireland. The views and scenery were divine! We’ve also attended a folklore and fairies story-telling at Temple Bar to learn about how the Irish went through their potato famine, superstitions about fairies and leprechauns. It’s so nice to finally have some off days from work to do something different. Although I have been working for only over a month now, I still feel appreciative for my trip. Visited Dublin Castle, Titanic museum in Belfast, the amazing Cliffs of Moher, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin and The Guinness Storehouse where we’ve obtained our free pints of beer. For those who’ve wished me happy birthday, I would like to say a massive thank you!!! Scroll down for some pictures. 🙂

Lovely hand-written birthday wish from my pet sister all the way from Malaysia <3
