Edinburgh!

Monday, April 29th, 2013

The 10th of April was a strange day because for once in my life I saw both the sunrise AND the sunset! That’s because we had to be up at like 5 in the morning to catch the metro to Newcastle and then the train to Edinburgh, where we spent the day walking around the castle and the town. The castle was okay–not too impressed tbh because it was like walking through a history lesson which I wasn’t a fan of. But the city was absolutely gorgeous and the accents were amazing and I’d love to go back there. :]

A Day on the Metro

Sunday, April 21st, 2013

So while my dad and sister were here we decided to buy a day pass on the metro and go around Newcastle. The first place we went was into Newcastle to do a little shopping but unfortunately I was the only one who really wanted to shop. :[ Next was Tynemouth which is where my flatmate Liam is from, so he’d shown me what it looks like on Google Maps before but it was even more beautiful in person! Then we went to North Shields and were literally about to get the ferry to South Shields when my sister realised she’d left her camera in a pub in Tynemouth….and we had to go ALL the way back to get it. -_- After that minor crisis we got on the ferry and then from South Shields we went back home to Sunderland.

Easter Weekend

Wednesday, April 3rd, 2013

So at last I’m doing a post about my weekend! Wow. Let me start off by saying it was CRAZY busy. It started on Thursday, when my dad and sister, Sophia, got here. I met them at the metro at about 5 and took them back to my flat. They’d had a long day of traveling so it was a pretty early night for everyone.

We’re freaks, what can I say. ;]

Then on Friday we walked about 3 miles to go see this place where I can store some of my stuff at for over the summer. We walked back into town over Queen Alexandra Bridge and did some shopping. Nothing too exciting, just food and essentials haha. Friday night was my first Bank Holiday shift and I worked from 8pm to 4am at Gatsby and Arizona–yay long hours! Just one of the perks of being a shot girl. ;]

Thank god for coffee haha.

I barely got any sleep that night as I got in around 5 then had to be up for the football match at 11. My first football match ever! Sunderland vs. Manchester United, at the Stadium of Light. Sunderland was….well, let’s just say they didn’t play very well and lost 0-1. And after sitting in front of a group of guys who were literally shouting “ha’way man!” every 3 minutes, I’d be well happy if I never heard anyone say ha’way again….ever. Haha. It was a good game though, mint weather! :]

IMG_1231IMG_1222When it was over I went home for a much needed nap and then it was off to work again for another 8 hour shift. Sunday I ended up sleeping most of the day while my dad and sister went to explore Alnwick and see the castle. I would’ve loved to have gone (uhm, hello, Alnwick Castle is basically Hogwarts!) but considering I didn’t get in from work till 6am, there was no chance of me being able to hop on an 8:45am metro with them. I would’ve died. I worked again Sunday night and I think I must’ve actually forgot that it was Easter because all weekend I’d been seeing people out in town wearing bunny ears and I’d been wondering what the heck was up with that and it wasn’t until Sunday night that it finally clicked and I realized, OH YEAH IT’S EASTER ISN’T IT. Not one of my smartest moments. :/ But then again the Easter Bunny didn’t come and I didn’t get any chocolate eggs so you’ll hafta give me a break. :[ Monday was just a relaxed day–I slept till about 3pm and my dad and sister went to the beach. It’s weird having them here! I’ve gotten used to living on my own haha. But it is nice, I hadn’t seen them since September. Anyway, I think that about sums up my weekend. Stay tuned for more posts–and lots of pictures!–cuz I’ve had a busy week. :]
