Aimee’s 21st Birthday!

Thursday, November 29th, 2012

So I’ve been extremely busy this past weekend, and I think the best part of it was Saturday night because it was my friend Aimee’s birthday party. It was held at Varsity and the theme was “Hollywood Glamour”, so of course everyone looked gorgeous. :] All the guys had even gone out and got tuxes! It was amazing, not even the torrential downpour could ruin the night. ;] I met Aimee and a lot of the people there during the first week of freshers because they were orange people–so if that isn’t a reason to be a part of the freshers welcome team, I don’t know what is! I know I definitely want to do it next year. :] Anyway, it was a great night and I met quite a few new people, even a guy who’s from Maidenhead which is right by where I used to live!

In other news, I’ve had a lot of uni work to do recently as assessments are coming up really fast! Not only that, but I’ve been house hunting and trying to figure out where I’m going to live and who I’m going to live with next year. It’s so stressful. :/ But no worries, I’ve got another video for you guys coming up soon, so stay tuned. :]

A Trip to the Beach

Wednesday, November 14th, 2012

Cue Nicki Minaj’s “Let’s go to the beach, beach, let’s go get away” (as this is the song that always gets stuck in my head when someone mentions the beach). So when I realized that I’ve been living here for about three months and I’ve only been to the beach about three times, I was quite disgusted in myself. Considering Roker Beach is a 20 minute walk from me, I really have no excuse! So my flatmate Catherine and I decided to take a little road trip to South Shields Beach in Tic Tac Tyra (her adorable car). It was freezing cold, but absolutely gorgeous–I literally couldn’t stop taking pictures. Plus it made me really excited for surfing. (Okay, I admit it, I was actually more terrified than excited. Do you KNOW how cold that water is?!) So we avoided going in the water–I took a video of Catherine running away from the waves because she looked so cute!

After walking along the beach for a while we went to this cute little cafe on the seafront, Cafe Minchella, for coffee and ice cream.  It was such a fun afternoon. The only disappointment was that the amusements weren’t open and we didn’t get any candy floss. :[ But we’ll definitely be going back there again. :]
