The Futureheads @ Split Festival 2012!

Sunday, September 30th, 2012

On Sunday, my flatmates and I decided to go check out Split Festival since The Futureheads were playing at 8. It was REALLY quiet when we got there, so we were all a bit confused until we realized that everyone was in the big tent where the stage was. I had never heard of The Futureheads before this so I didn’t know any of the songs they played, but I actually really liked them! I know a lot of bands don’t sound so great live, but these guys sounded amazing. :] After they played, my flatmate Catherine and my sister flatmate Megan and I all decided that a movie night was in order, so we got pizza takeaway, went back home and watched Mean Girls. All in all a very good night. :]

Freshers 2012!

Wednesday, September 26th, 2012

The first week of uni has been absolutely crazy! Between course inductions and parties every night, I’ve basically been going non-stop, but it’s been amazing. I made a short (well, I TRIED to make it short) video talking about what I’ve been up to the past week, but I know I missed out a lot. (Like the orange people who come round to our flat every night! How could I forget to mention them? And by orange people I mean the Freshers Welcome Team of course.)

My Trip From Wisconsin, USA to Sunderland, England.

Tuesday, September 18th, 2012

The longest travel day of my life started at 6:30 on Thursday morning. I said goodbye to my sisters and my dogs, and then we left for Milwaukee airport. From there we had a 90 minute flight to Toronto, Canada (my first time in Canada!), and a 6 hour layover at the airport there. It was evening by the time we boarded the plane and the flight to London took about 6 and a half hours. Then we took the tube to King’s Cross where I got to see Platform 9 3/4. :] And then we took a train up to Newcastle and the Metro back down to Sunderland. I got to my flat at about 2:30 in the afternoon  and needless to say, I was DEAD. I took a lot of pictures throughout the trip though, so I just put them together in a little video. Please excuse the royalty-free music playing in the background, it was the best I could find!
