My TEDx Talk

Last year I did a TEDx talk entitled: ‘The Millennial Revolution Yet To Come‘, this month it went LIVE on the official TEDxYouth YouTube channel.

Many young people feel confused and let down in this current world climate, but many also feel extremely positive and determined to fight for and lead change. There is a major need for a revolution led by young people: a revolution in Education; a revolution in Business and a revolution in life…it’s coming, we’re coming, are you ready?

Check out my video here:

The talk was held at the beautiful Literary & Philosophical Society in Newcastle. The Lit & Phil is the largest independent library outside London, housing over 150,000 books. Below is a photo of me in action. If you would like to watch further talks from the Newcastle Tyne Bridge youth event, follow this link: TEDxYouth@TyneBridge

The Color Run Sunderland

6000 people took in the Color Run at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light. The event was truly magical and more than proved its claim of being “the happiest 5k on the planet” it was AWESOME! Event organiser Joe Rafferty said: “We had great success on our return to London and Manchester but this was the first time for The Color Run in Sunderland and the crowds here certainly didn’t disappoint.”

Sunset at Northumberlandia

A few nights ago I went to Northumberlandia, a landmark I have previously blogged about here: Northumberlandia. I went to watch the sunset and boy oh boy what a sunset it was!!! The sky lit up in bright oranges and crimson reds as the sun raced to the southern hemisphere. The pictures I managed to take look like they were taken in Africa, when in reality, this is the North East of England, quite incredible!

Post Uni – Summer 2014 – Majorca

With Uni having finished for the summer, me and my girlfriend decided to go on a last minute holiday to the Spanish island of Majorca. I’ve been to Majorca many times before; it’s a fantastic place to go if you want to have a nice relaxing holiday. I had a great time abroad and now feel renergised and excited for the rest of the summer before Uni starting again in September. I’m currently working my way through a long list of things to do and places to visit this summer so you’ll be seeing a lot of interesting content on my blog over the coming months. In terms of Uni, I don’t find out about my professional placement until September so I can’t update you too much on that front, but I will be blogging about my Year 2 results very soon! In the meantime, I hope you’re having a great summer and enjoy watching my latest Vlog on Majorca.Majorca 1IMG_3966 DSC00701 DSC00713 DSC00826

Plessey Woods

Living and studying in the North East brings so many opportunities to explore not just the two big cities of Sunderland and Newcastle, but even further afield, Northumberland and Durham are two places both within easy access. It is in this blog that I visited Plessey Woods in Northumberland. Easily accessible from Newcastle’s Haymarket bus station via the X22, this beautiful and peaceful place is well worth a visit.

The Park offers 100 acres of woodland, meadow and riverside to explore. The woodland is home to many birds such as the great spotted woodpecker, nuthatch and tree creeper, as well as animals including red squirrel, roe deer and fox. The banks of the River Blyth are also an important habitat for wildlife, such as kingfishers, dippers and otters.

People have come to Plessey Woods for generations to enjoy the woods and the river. Known locally as Bluebell Woods, the country park is an ideal place for a relaxing day out and a perfect place to come to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre life.

Turn up your sound and enjoy the peaceful sounds of nature in this short video giving you a taste of the peaceful atmosphere you will encounter at Plessey.
