Tyne Sunset.

Sunday, January 19th, 2014

The Tyne is such a beautiful place to visit in the heart of the North East.

You can be on Newcastle Quayside from Sunderland Uni via metro in roughly 45 minutes!

National Glass Centre are launching an exhibition of the Goldsmith Collection next week – these are iconic fashion spectacles, which have been worn from the 1920s to the present day; alongside the glasses themselves there will be pictures of some of the famous clients, Michael Caine, Audrey Hepburn etc.

Take part in this exhibition by uploading photos of yourself in your best specs to Twitter and Facebook using the hashtag ‘bespectacular’ ‪#‎bespectacular‬ and you could see yourself alongside the exhibition at the Glass Centre!

Can you beat this one?

January Uni Update

2014 is going to be a very exciting year!

I’m currently going into my 2nd Semester of my 2nd year at the University of Sunderland studying English Education with Qualified Teacher Status. 2014 will see me enter my 3rd and final year at Uni and undertake the professional year, where I will complete my teacher training in schools. Qualifying as a teacher is something I feel extremely passionate about as not only would I love to teach, but I think it will add a key strength to my business cause when I plan to delve back into business after a couple of years teaching English in the North East and abroad.

The coming semester will see me studying 3 modules.

1. Critical Approaches to Literature.

2. The Art of Modern Poetry.

3. Poetry in the Secondary School.

3 modules compared to the 5 studied in the first semester, so there hopefully will be a little less stress and more time to seek out extra curricular opportunities.

Work-wise, I continue to enjoy public speaking in schools and colleges, specifically on Careers and Enterprise days. I also blog about my life for the University which I thoroughly enjoy as it keeps opening up bundles of opportunities.

In my personal life, I have found someone I feel really happy with and right now things feel great. I’m really grateful that at this point in my life I’m having a lot of fun and I’m enjoying being a student which was an experience I needed to have.

It’s going to be a good one…I wonder what opportunities I will hunt out this year!?!

Make it a year to remember!
