Dickens Week

So every year Broadstairs my local town hosts two major events Dickens Festival and Folk Week the first is Dickens. So I could grab a few hours away from work I thought I’d join in the festivities… I believe the pics and videos speak for themselves….

Finally…

So it’s been a long time coming, but I think I am finally in Love. For the past week I have had a soundtrack to my life. Authentically British and fantastically produced it has come in the form of a Reverend. The Reverend and the Makers that is!

Not for so long I have been audibly enlightened. The Reverend’s collection combines both original spiritual rock with deeply produced classics that are sure to get anyone moving. So why have I decided to write a blog about this?

Well it couldn’t be easier to say I wish for more people to hear about and listen to this album. It is a true cross-genre album and one that gets me moving and smiling like no one else has since Muse back with Black Holes and Revelations.

So get down and listen to it, 20 tracks of masterpiece and British at that! I wish to promote this sound to everyone and ask if they were more air played surely they would have received a better reception for their summer smasher ‘Bassline’. It is support like this and through Facebook that has made the album climb to no.13 so I wish to recommend this sound to everyone! It is so refreshing to hear non mass produced generic music (case closed haha) 🙂

Back to work…

So since being back I have started working again. If I haven’t told you before I work for a Mental Health Unit. This is an exciting yet very demanding and challenging role but reflects my wanting to enter the mental health law field, one not many potential law students will consider but one close to me due to enjoying the Human Rights aspects of law and also protection from unlawful detention when people who are sectioned are deprived of liberty. But as challenging a role as it is the rewarding aspects from it, make the stress worthwhile. I have been managing to accumulate a 57.5 hours a week average so far so as you can imagine there isn’t too much to report on here.

Although recently we petitioned alongside residents for a kitten to be bought due to therapeutic side it provides and of course for enjoyment so I thought i’d share this with you. I would also truly recommend looking at summer jobs as it truly does help to go to uni with some money saved and is good to keep you busy over the summer as I would just get bored considering the business I have been experiencing at university.

Moving out.

So with the year reaching its climax, it would be time to move out. A new experience yet again. Packing the my life away in bags and boxes was a weird situation as I saw how much belongings I seemed to have accumulated over the year, incredible. Items such as inflatable bananas and massive glasses with the WKD logo on were two I had acquired on adventures. I chuckled to myself seeing various things collected on nights out and photos taken. A reminder of how much I had done, achieved and seen in my short year at university. I thought to myself ‘I shall be spending time here more year’ as I realised my reading weeks would be taken by placements and I would have longer terms.

As much as I had missed home and friends over the year, perspective gained, I realised how I wish I was spending more time hear and the excitement gained from moving back into Panns Bank with new people and knowing familiar ones now was exciting.

So I packed my belongings and decided, on recommendation from the university I would store some of the larger items for a reasonable £3 a week. The rest would require me to take on the gruelling six hour drive there and back. So it would be one last night out to top of the moving out.
