Ah, February 29th!

Wednesday, February 29th, 2012

A day like any other, but comes only once in 4 years. Reason enough to celebrate? Yes! If I was born on the 29th of February I would be 5 years old today :D  So what did you guys eat on the leap year?

Ok, enough with the leap year amazement. I survived through February. The pile of work at the beginning of the month has now gone! Wooooooop I see freetimeeeee! x

It’s the Yummy Tuesday :9

Tuesday, February 21st, 2012

Hello, it’s the Shrove Tuesday today.

I still remember when I first heard about this which was last year. It was a new thing for me as I didn’t have this tradition back in Indonesia. My British flatmates made me pancakes and we enjoyed it with nuttella yum!

So this year, chef Beatrice made her own pancake from scratch. Wasn’t as hard as I imagined, basically I just mixed  a couple of eggs with milk, flour and sugar to make the batter. Flipping the pancake was the most challenging part, but look how professional I was :p

And… TADAA! My pizza-like pancakes; served with nutella, honey, parmasan cheese, and icing sugar (get ready for diabetes guys :p). Hope you enjoy your pancakes as well today  xx

Interested to be an RSA?

Sunday, February 19th, 2012

THE RECRUITMENT IS NOW OPEN!

Don’t know what RSA is? Take a look at the advert.

Sounds alright? Check out the job role here.

Yes?? Here’s the form to be submitted before 1st of March!

If you are planning to or don’t mind staying at university’s hall of residence again next year, as an RSA I truly recommend you to give it a try. Never worry about whether it’s gonna affect your study as such because trust me, it is an easy job and wouldn’t take that much of your time as you might’ve imagined.

In total you would work just 7 days every month (with flexible days too since you can swap your shift around with other RSAs), with each duty day involves 1,5 hours in the reception in the evening followed by Out&About and on call duty afterwards (you should stay on site if you’re on call duty). Yes, you get paid when you sleep. And they pay you really good too! :p

So, good luck! x

Roses are Red

Tuesday, February 14th, 2012

Guess how much I got for my CCNA 3 exam this morning? 62.4%, much lower than the previous two. I’m quite disappointed with the result, but since I didn’t put that much effort in it I can’t really complaint. In the good side I managed to get 80% for the practical which would still get me an overall of a first yay!

Oh and Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!!

I came to the class this morning at 9ish, rushing because I was late by 10 minutes (as usual) and all tensed for the exam, just to find a rose on my desk. My friends told me that the RAG (Raise and Give for charity) people came to the class at 9 and looked for me but since I wasn’t there they just left it on the table. Apparently someone ordered a flower with cookies and sweets through them for me. Awwwhhh it made my day <3. xxxxxx

The Kick Off Meeting, and My Mission Impossible.

Monday, February 13th, 2012

I just went back from London yesterday, and very knackered now. But it was good to finally meet up with the new PPI UK crews (as I mentioned in my previous post) after talking to them via Skype or Google hangout all these little while. That is probably one thing I like about getting involved in this organisation – it forms a new team every year, so there are more people to meet. New style, new plans, new faces. Its members are also coming from all over the UK, from every cities you can mention (which means free accommodation whenever I visit those cities :p).

Now the reality bites. I have CCNA exam tomorrow, which I haven’t prepared at all (fyi, I got 30% for the mock exam last week!). There is one assingment that is due on the 29th (that I still have no idea where to start), a presentation on the 1st, and another assignment on the 2nd (this one is the worst). Well that’s not everything though. I have a Valentine’s date tomorrow lol, I’m going to Gloucester on Wednesday morning for another interview and will be back to Sunderland Thursday night, I have a volunteering work for the Imagine Cup on Friday, and PPI Sunderland monthly gathering + my good friend’s birthday party on Saturday which I couldn’t pass, and trip to Reading on 27-28.

I can’t see myself pass through this month :| even make me feel nausea thinking about it..

Ok I better start studying for my exam tomorrow now. Please please please pray for me! x

Paintball Video!

Friday, February 3rd, 2012

Had another meeting with the department of sport this afternoon regarding the registration rules for the paintball society. Lesson learnt: building a new society from scratch is not easy. It needs a lot of calculation, discussion, and compromise, and involves a lot of parties as well. But no worries, the president is real good in his job and he has secured a good deal for the entry fee of only £10. Sweet.

Anyway, here is the video of the taster session before! Interested? Join our society :) Don’t worry if you never played it before because I assure you, I’d still be the worst player haha! xx
