Hello there everyone.

Happy days… the Lives Online official youtube channel has gone live! This means you can start viewing the videos that I, and my other Lives Online colleagues, upload for you!

As a starter, here’s a link to my introduction video.

I can’t wait to get posting more videos very soon; studying Pharmacy at Sunderland is great, so I really want to show off my course! Pharmacy is a brilliant career to get involved with, and I am keen to publish as much as possible – who knows, it might attract more students to pursue it as a career too!

So, I’m going to keep this post short but sweet.
I’ll be posting more videos very soon, but in the meantime you can Like my page on Facebook and follow my updates on there – just search Anna Robinson – Pharmacy Student.

My last few days of Summer…

Wednesday, September 25th, 2013

So I spent my last few days of the summer break being VERY busy…

I met up with a lot of friends from uni, as they were all moving back to Sunderland around the same time. We had pizzas, watched a DVD and caught up about our summer breaks. It was also freshers’ week at the Uni, so a couple of my Pharmacy coursemates and I went out to Sunderland City Centre. The town was buzzing with new students and returning students, and all of the shops and restaurants had ‘student’ offers on… which we took advantage of!

I also made the most of my free time to go away to a Cross Country and Show Jumping camp with a horse called Arcus. Once Uni is back in full swing, I won’t be able to ride or compete as much as I’d like; purely because of the workload and late finishes… plus the winter nights are coming in quickly now, so I’d be rushed to find ‘daylight hours’ after my 5pm University finish! The Camp was great fun, and all of my hard work and dedication over the summer seemed to pay off, because the horse I rode did VERY well.

To round off my Summer break I went to watch the Great North City Games at Newcastle and Gateshead Quayside. I LOVE athletics and follow loads of athletes on twitter, so I couldn’t pass on the opportunity to see them in action in my hometown. The setting for the Games was fantastic; right on the quayside opposite the Millenium Bridge! I even got to see some of my faves, including Christine Ohuruogu, Sally Pearson, Johnnie Peacock, and the incredible Mo Farah.

It was brilliant… and to top off the weekend, I went to watch the Great North Run the following day, and saw Mo Farah in action alongside the two greatest marathon runners of all time, Haile Gebrselassie and Kenenisa Bekele.

So, all in all my summer was unreal, very hectic and certainly unforgettable… but I’m not sad to say that I’m “back to reality” at University now. I know it’s nerdy but I enjoy studying Pharmacy, so bring on Third Year!

The Beginning…

So here it goes… I am now officially a Lives Online blogger… and here is my first post for the 2013-2014 academic year!!

Hi!
I’m Anna. I’m 21 and I study Pharmacy at the University of Sunderland.
I’m about to start my third year on the course, and so far I’ve loved my experience of Uni and life as a student at Sunderland.

To be honest, there isn’t much more that I want to say right now, other than I hope all of the new students are enjoying Freshers’ week and have began settling into life at Sunderland, and I hope all of the returning students have had a great summer break!

I remember that I found the first couple of weeks at Uni a bit of a roller-coaster. I loved meeting new people and learning new things, but it definitely took a couple of weeks to settle down into a proper routine. As for finding my way around campus… it definitely wasn’t as bad as I expected! So, to all of you newbie students, no matter what course you are studying… stick in there! Your years at Sunderland will certainly fly over, so make the most of every minute while you can. And have fun! 🙂

For any returning students, welcome back! I hope your summer break was fun and relaxing.
I’m looking forward to returning back to study pharmacy, and I’m not going to lie, I’m a bit nervous for starting third year! But hey ho, I’m sure I’m not the only one feeling like this.

I don’t really know what to expect from third year, other than it will be pretty intense… but I guess I could say the same for any year on the pharmacy course – it’s tough but will be thoroughly worthwhile. What I do know is that I’m looking forward to all of the placements we have this year, and getting more experience of pharmacy in the ‘real-world’.

Enough of uni talk for now… I haven’t officially began my third year yet, so as far as I’m concerned I should still be enjoying my holiday while I can!

I’ll just keep this first blog short and sweet, but I’ll film a video blog for a proper introduction and what-not very soon… So keep posted 🙂

– Anna.
